London Tango Classes · Tango178
Tango178’s Simon is an Argentine Tango teacher, DJ and contemporary artist; Emily works in commercial styling. Together, they have helped shape a South London Argentine Tango community running since 2014. At The New Cross House, lessons and social dancing share a home, with traditional music, close embrace and care for the couples around you. You can learn the fundamentals, return to familiar faces and gradually join the wider dance floor. It may suit you if community is central to why you dance. Amanda and Adrian Costa return to Tango178 from 18 to 28 February 2027.
You are drawn to traditional music, close-embrace social dancing and a regular South London gathering.
Teaching approach & your first visit
Teaching focus: Social dance foundations · Technique · Shared dance-floor awareness · Listening to Argentine Tango music
Social Argentine Tango, technique and musicality support dancing together to traditional Argentine Tango music. Ask how the current class develops movement, connection and awareness of the shared floor.
A first conversation: Try the Sunday beginners and fundamentals class; no partner is required. If close embrace is new to you, ask how the teacher introduces it and discuss your comfort level.
