BARRIO CONEXIÓN, WITH INTENTION

Care is part of the embrace.

Women leading, learning and finding their voice.

Women shape Argentine Tango as teachers, performers, organisers and partners in the dance. We want their work to be easier to discover, and women to feel able to ask questions, try either dance role and set their own boundaries.

Female-led highlights teaching led by women. Some sessions welcome all genders; others are specifically for women. The label describes leadership, so check the format of the class you choose.

A space where your comfort matters

You can ask for a different embrace, decline a dance, pause an exercise or opt out of partner rotation. Ask before touching or offering physical corrections, and expect the same consideration in return.

  • Who will be teaching, and can I speak with them before my first visit?
  • How are consent, partner rotation and choices about dance roles handled?
  • Who can I approach if something makes me uncomfortable, and how will my concern be handled?

A welcoming environment comes from the people and practices in the room. A directory label cannot guarantee it. We encourage you to speak with the teacher and choose what feels right for you.

Barrio Conexión's partner finder is for adults aged 18 and over seeking dance practice, not a dating or emergency service. Profiles are self-described and are not identity or background checked. We cannot guarantee another member's conduct, compatibility or safety.

Consent, every time

Any dance role is open to any gender. Ask before making contact or giving feedback. Respect a no immediately. Agree a comfortable embrace and personal boundaries. Either dancer can stop at any time without explanation.

Meet thoughtfully

Meet initially at a public studio or organised event. Tell someone your plans, arrange your own travel, and avoid sharing home addresses or financial information. Agree any studio costs clearly before meeting.

Report, block, step away

Use the report and block controls on member profiles. Blocking hides the profile and prevents new introductions between both members. Reports enter the review queue. Moderation is not continuous; in an emergency contact the appropriate emergency service.

Community expectations

No harassment, discrimination, sexual solicitation, impersonation, unsolicited promotion or sharing someone else's personal information. Repeated boundary violations are grounds for removal. Use Contact us for concerns that need a response. This service does not offer continuous monitoring or emergency assistance.

Practise with care

Our exercises are general educational prompts, not personalised medical or rehabilitation advice. Use a clear space and suitable support, work within your comfort, and stop if you experience pain or dizziness. Seek individual advice where a health condition or injury affects practice.
